BTV launched another hit social media satire in the short form digital space.
The premiere launched on YouTube on November 28th, 2020 and released episodes every wild wild weekend following. The series is about five influencers that embark on an exclusive yoga retreat led by a gender-fluid guru. The Guru is played by Anthony Famulari, who also serves as a producer, taking the audience on an unpredictable journey in, quite frankly, the middle of nowhere.
The entire season is available to binge.
When getting hooked on new television shows, many expect a handful of notable faces to draw them in. Wild Wild Yogis leans on their storytelling and the comedic beats that ensue week after week. But one performance that could not be ignored is Cat Larkin in the role of Franki. She plays the oddball girlfriend to Ace, played by Chris Gatpo, who helped highlight her performance each week. Larkin brought a charming reality to a world that was certainly Yogi'fied.
The series aired during the COVID-19 shutdown. Wild Wild Yogis is produced by Thursday Afternoon Films. Executive producers include Erin Goulet, who also serves as showrunner, and Noreen Taylor Diani, with Ashley Atwood and Famulari serving as producers. BTV distributes the series worldwide.
The comedic duo made of Goulet, who created the series, and Nicholas Harsin, also dazzle in the series with their own individualized episode; an episode composed completely around their relationship. Gatpo, Atwood, Rachel Braff and Tania Camargo support in their roles as well.
Emmy winning actress, Kira Reed Lorsch surprises in a guest appearance nobody was expecting. Lorsch appears at the end of the series, leaving us hanging in a way we did not expect. Will she return? How big will her role be if she does return? Will there be a season 2?
Syndication for the first season will come this Spring on BTV's Facebook Watch and IGTV pages, as well as on Binge Networks and the BTV exclusive app launching this year. The BTV app will be accessible on 90+ OTT devices including Apple TV devices, Roku devices, Amazon Fire devices and many others. The app will be free to download with premium viewership options.
