Alibaba Accused of Imitating Dianna Williams' Costume Designs on 'The Dolls'

The latest episode of the popular reality series The Dolls streaming on Brandon TV has sparked a heated controversy after allegations emerged that Alibaba copied the unique costume designs of renowned dance coach Dianna Williams. Episode 6, which dropped on Sunday, July 28, brought this controversy to the forefront, leaving fans and followers buzzing with opinions.

In Episode 6, "Knuck If You Buck," the cameras follow Williams through her morning routine which included going live on social media to interact with fans, making her coffee, and checking her emails. When checking her emails, she came across one from a colleague sending her the shocking news that e-commerce giant, Alibaba, was selling her designs with her face on the promotions. The allegedly copied costumes showcase the intricate designs that have become synonymous with Williams' Dancing Dolls brand.

The E-commerce giant was not only allegedly stealing designs, but clearly using photos and videos from Dianna Williams' social media pages to promote the product(s)! You can see in the screenshot below from the episode, as well as a screenshot of Williams messaging the seller asking "Why in the hell is my picture on your site?"

Dianna went to tell her husband Rob and claimed she is definitely getting a lawyer to get her coin from Alibaba and get the product(s) removed from the site.

Alibaba has not officially commented on the allegations. However, the company has been known to take swift action when faced with similar controversies in the past. It remains to be seen how they will address the current situation and whether any measures will be taken to rectify the alleged imitation, or if more will be shown next episode.

This incident sheds light on a broader issue faced by designers and celebrities worldwide: the challenge of protecting their creations and likeness from unauthorized reproduction. As e-commerce platforms continue to grow, ensuring the integrity of original designs has become increasingly complex.
