Merry Christmas and an almost New Year!
This past week, Demetre and I went to visit my family on the East Coast for Christmas and my sister's birthday. We had such a blast. I got to see some family members I have not seen since COVID started. Our flights were amazing.
My mom pulled some strings and got us INCREDIBLE upgrades.
There were many highlights from our trip, but I have to tell you about three!
First. I got to have my first official photoshoot with my best friend, Reem. She is starting a skincare blog and I offered to shoot her for her page.
This was hilarious and fun.
She and I are complete idiots around each other, so it took us a while to get serious; however, we got some really great shots! There is still a bunch of editing to get done, but I will share on my instagram once they are all done.
Second. It was my sister's birthday. Demetre and I put our Good Food Gurus magic touch on the event. Even though it was small we made it feel like a grand affair. I made a special cocktail for her with some of her favorite things. This was not for the faint of heart. It was a whiskey base with some elderflower and other goodness. We also had different spreads for her and her best friend... brought some homemade Filipino food.
Demetre had a great idea on how to create a photo wall backdrop.
Needless to say, there were a bunch of pictures in front.
My favorite part of the trip was one of Demetre's gifts. He completely caught me off guard with this. He gifted me a denim coat with my sister's face on the back and some pins that represent her on the front. When I tell you, I ugly cried... SHESSH.
Demetre really got me with that one. It's funny because the clues were right in front of me the whole time. But, I would have never guessed.
I am so grateful for the people in my life. As I look back on this year, it has been a rollercoaster. But I am constantly learning. I am looking forward to what 2021 has in store. I know I have a few surprises up my sleeve.
Till next year,
Roberto
