Matt Sarafa, one of the stars of The Getaway Los Angeles (also known as TGLA for short), admits feeling concerned about his friendship while filming with his close friend, Brandon Stewart, who is both his co-star and a producer of TGLA.
Streaming now on Brandon TV, TGLA follows a group of friends working to launch their careers. Most of them have moved to Los Angeles from different parts of the country, seeking not only professional success, but also personal fulfillment.
One fan-favorite friendship that is heavily highlighted throughout the series is that of Sarafa and Stewart. Stewart is really the core link between all of the different friends within the cast, including Sarafa, who he brought into the group. Sarafa was excited, but also a bit nervous to get closer to the friend group Stewart proposed.
"Friends are like family," Stewart told him in the first moments of the first episode.
However, in a recent interview with Front Page Pop, the young fashion designer admitted that he did have “a little bit” of worry and reservations about filming with his BFF, Stewart.
“I talked with him before we even picked up cameras and filmed the first thing,” Sarafa shared. “[He] and [Sarafa] have something so good going, I don’t want any of this to mess it up. Like if there’s anything that I ever do that you have an issue with, just come talk to me about it, we don’t need to blow it up into something big,” he continues.
“We’ve really been cool, I don’t think we really [had any problems]… obviously we’ve had little disagreements about little things…” Sarafa adds, laughing, “...like what side of the camera I’m getting picked up on,” he joked.
Sarafa admits that his overall experience has been "really, really fun,” he told us. He said he “loves most of the cast.” If you’ve been following along with the TGLA drama, you can probably guess who he may be throwing shade at. If not, well, allow us to refresh your memory. He's refering to Cliff Watson.
Watson doesn't come from the entertainment industry. And it didn't take fans to fall in love with his authentic approach, opening up about his struggle of losing his father.
But on New Years Eve, however, Stewart hosted a party at his studios, where an exclusive guest list attended in celebration of 2024. Though cameras weren’t initially rolling, crew attending the party didn’t take long to set up and capture the heated exchange between Watson and Sarafa. Some of the clips from what were captured have been teased on Stewart's late night talk show.
So while Sarafa is struggling with others in the cast, it seems everything may be good between the long-time BFFs for now. When we asked Stewart what he thought of Sarafa's. first season, he told us he is "looking forward to seeing more of [Sarafa] next season."
There is no telling what’s in store for the upcoming season, and the return of the explosive first season coming this Summer. Catch up on the series, available to stream on Brandon TV, and follow Obsessed on social media to get the latest.
